We have kids around here that keep appearing on my doorstep at 8pm (while i'm trying to put DD to bed) every night singing carols and expecting money.

The first night I said merry christmas, listened to their songs and then when they asked for money I said what charity is it for and they all ummmd and ahhhd and then said Children in need which I was abit at but gave them 50p anyway.
The 2nd night I said sorry, no money tonight.
3rd night I said the same.
Tonight I said listen guys I'm not giving out anymore money sorry.

I've now had snowballs thrown at the house for being cheap!!

Incidently these are the same kids that demand Penny for the guy on bonfire night and more money on halloween rather than sweets.

I'm not cheap am I? I'm not bah humbugging em either. I LOVE Christmas but this is the 2nd year in a row that they've come around doing it.

last year we had a smackhead and two small-ish children knocking EVERY NIGHT!! and this was after 9pm aswell!! i gave them a pound at first and then a tree choc for the kids but eventually i told her to stop knocking and get the kids in the warm!! she hasnt knocked this year yet
