Which gifts does Santa bring?

Just wondering how you guys play it with your dc. Does Santa bring the stocking pressies only? Does he bring the main pressie (after all that's probably what they told him they wanted when they wrote to him or saw him at a grotto)? My mum always told us he delivered the gifts from everyone else but I can't remember what he actually gave us IYKWIM.

One gift in the stocking only.

Isawlissiekissingsantaclaus · 21/12/2009 08:43

he acts as a magical postman in our house. however, the stockings are from him and alwys contain traditional gifts like marbles, sweets, an orange and snap!

fairydust · 21/12/2009 08:43

I think different families do different things for us santa brings all the presents and we buy the kids one each then they get family presents.

HeffaMerryChristmas · 21/12/2009 08:43

Stocking presents only. My mum used to tell me that she worked with him for the other presents.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 21/12/2009 08:45

He brings all the presents in this house , other than those from relations or friends.
Dc never question why there aren't any from us.

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 21/12/2009 08:47

Stockings and all the rest here too.
Anything from relatives and friends is from them everything else from Santa.
We do buy the dc's something small from us not that they really notice one way or another really.
THis year it is battery toothbrushes from Disney store.

Sassyfrassy · 21/12/2009 08:56

stocking presents only. DDs are told that santa brings little things so they know to ask us for big stuff. After all, it helps keep the load in the sleigh down a bit =)

lilibet · 21/12/2009 08:59

He brings the stuff in the stockings and all the stuff downstairs he delivers on behalf of friends and family and people must be thanked for them!

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 21/12/2009 09:02

stocking and asked for gifts.

HugeBaublesWhatDidISayRoy · 21/12/2009 09:04

he brings everything in this house.

vonnyh · 21/12/2009 09:06

He brings everything in our house.

GrumpyWhenWoken · 21/12/2009 09:21

He used to bring everything in our house (same as when I was a child) but having talked to lots of friends, this year he is bringing lots of presents in a big sack - however, the main presents are going to be from ME this year!

Also stops me feeling p**d off with xh as his presents are from HIM, not Father Christmas (so therefore none from me).

CherryChristmasEveryone · 21/12/2009 14:11

in ouy house he brings the stockings, and a small sack of tat gifts some of which are wrapped, and some are unwrapped. the rest is from whoever bought it

snickersnack · 21/12/2009 15:13

Stockings only, but the stockings have medium-size toy or two as well as books and little things. We then give a bigger present, and one or two other little things.

norksinmychristmasstocking · 21/12/2009 15:16

Stocking plus on wrapped gift, left by the bed.
Other presents are from whoever sent them.
DC know that I hide their presents from me and get them out when they are in bed on Xmas eve, as they would try and guess/open them otherwise

SleepingLion · 21/12/2009 15:18

Stocking gifts are from Father Christmas, tree presents are from family and labelled as such. DS has never queried why bigger things on his Christmas list are from us and not Father Christmas but we tend to imply that it's a big FC/parent conspiracy anyway

tulpe · 21/12/2009 15:24

stocking gifts from Father Christmas (little things like Top Trumps, CDs, traditional sweeties - candy canes etc) everything under the tree from us but delivered by Father Christmas.

DCs think I liaise with FC via email and phone This works really well actually as they know that even once the letters have been sent, I can still inform him of important changes regarding either gifts or behaviour

Wattinger · 21/12/2009 16:50

This is the 1st Xmas that DS has really understood what's going on so were going to have all the presents from Santa except 1 or 2 from mummy and daddy - just incase he wonders why we're the only ones not to have given him anything!
