What do people buy their mums for xmas? Mine's 60 and retired and her life is busy solely revolving around her numerous grandchildren. I'm stumped!

Any ideas would be so welcomed!

My mum recently bought a house so I paid one of her new cheap artistic neighbours to paint a picture of the new house, lovely neighbour even framed it for me. I'm positive my mum will love it and have been bursting to show it to her.

I have bought mine a digital photo frame and have spent hours choosing 400 photos (of the family and grandkids mainly) to load on it - she says they are the light of her life so lets hope so! She saw our new frame this week and watched it for hours so hopefully it's a winner.

My mum's all too easy to buy for, I'm lucky.

Nice knitting wool (by which I mean, indie-dyed stuff, obscure Canadian yarns she's read about online), knitting accessories, books, usually buy her a new diary, jewellery... This year, am knitting her a lace scarf, and gave her some books I got from her Amazon wishlist, a Victorian silver bracelet, and the Outnumbered box set I think I'll borrow off her in the new year!

We've bought my mil an electric log splitter, she's just had a log burning stove fitted in the sitting room. She spent hours chopping logs a few weekends ago so we thought it was the perfect gift....we'll see

This year I got my mum her favourite perfume, a good book, a jigsaw puzzle made from a photo of her gcs and a scarf from Accessorize.

My mum likes to wear flip-flops in the house to potter around in (yes she is in UK) so I have got here theseto keep her toes warm!

This year I've got her "mother's" jewellery from www.emroyjewels.co.uk - she had five children, so it's a pearl necklace with 5 birthstone crystals that represent each of us (could work for grandchildren too). I was pleased as it looks lovely and was really pretty cheap (£30-40) compared to other jewellery I was looking at.
