I am, can't wait. Totally organised, just waiting for the big man to come down the chimney!

I will be next week when that last of the shopping is done and the new oven is delivered lol .

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 11/12/2009 20:30

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I just need to get some booze and last minute veggies and i am ready. Oh and i need to wrap pressies!
Feels so much better to be organised this year rather than still rushing around trying to get everything.

plumpud · 11/12/2009 20:32

tortoise..it is law that you do not wrap anything until the evening of christmas eve.. whilst having a large glass of wine

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 11/12/2009 20:33

me me me me me

buying the Christmas tree tomorrow and decorating , everything else is done! presents wrapped, cards sent, everything. Can't wait as it's the first time DS will really appreciate it (he's just 2)

SingleMum01 · 11/12/2009 20:41

I've bought a wii for my DS (7) he doesn't think we're having one as I always say they're too expensive, can't wait to see the look on his face and I can't wait to play it!

PlumPud But but but, then i would be up half the night! And there is the risk of small ones coming downstairs. I do have 4 kids worth of things to wrap!

plumpud · 11/12/2009 21:05

tortoise.. it is a thing that does have to be done. it makes the whole experience far more exciting and tense..

' shhhh.. is that one of the dc's?'... shhhh < tipsily grapples pressies to hide whilst the dog wanders into the lounge making one swear>

but seeing as you have the extra dc on me.. I'll give it to you.

Oh singlemum.. we did that last year with the xbox 360. waited till the dc's had done the pressy bit..( which was not big).. then produced the xbox all wrapped for the 3 dc's and rockband kit.. their faces were brilliant.. ds1 who was 13 at the time psyically shook and tears welled up.

We had a good few years of very little before that.

ISawTortoiseFuckingSantaClaus · 11/12/2009 21:18

I could maybe save the stocking bits as i will have to wait for the big man in red to deliver them before wrapping.

PurpleLostPrincess · 11/12/2009 21:47

Can I join in? The last 3 or 4 years have been downright rubbish due to miscarriages, operations, depression etc but this is the first year in a long time that I'm actually properly excited - yayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

In previous years I would have been telling people off for going on about it, more because of the fear of what would happen financially. However this year, I've HAD to start buying in October due to having had a hysterectomy in November so I knew I wouldn't be able to get out. The internet is my shopping friend and I can't believe how much I've got done - this is a major contributory factor to my excitement! Still have a few bits to get but will do that in the last week. DC's are 15, 11 and 2 but the oldest two are at their dads on Christmas eve and Christmas morning so we can give the 2yr old lots of attention, then shower them with attention when they get home and she is in bed, perfect!!! AND we get to have Christmas dinner with my parents and then my cousins are coming over from Ireland on Boxing day. Also it's DS's girlfriends first christmas with us and she's NEVER had a stocking - quite shocking !!!!!!!! So I'm looking forward to making it nice for her...

Hmmmm, that felt good to give all the reasons for it being a good Christmas this year, thanks for reading this far lol!!!

HAPPY CHRISTMASSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

lissielouskissingsantaclaus · 11/12/2009 21:53

On the MN front, have my bottom lip stuck out at still having to wait for Christmas smilies. I/we neeeed them!

PlumBumandBaublesMum · 12/12/2009 15:14

But unlike the rest of you I haven't anything in,
just a few bits,
I never start shopping before December and just love having it all to do right up to Christmas, YEY

We don't wrap dcs presents but have them spread in different piles around living room they love it.

Ripeberry · 12/12/2009 15:15

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! VERY good chance of snow this year around Xmas time!
www.net-weather.co.uk
At least the weather feels christmassy and not the usual wet and mild dreary days.

mistletoekisses · 12/12/2009 15:26

me too, me too, me too!

Glad I am not the only one wondering where the christmas smilies are!

santaschristmascakeywakey · 12/12/2009 15:34

I an regularly sulking on this thread about Christmas smilies MNHQ are ignoring us now though

Nemofish · 12/12/2009 20:37

Very excited. Have got a Wii for the family as a surprise, dh knows nothing about it. At least once a day I want to yell - We've got a Wii for Xmas!!!!'

Dd is 3 and a half, this is her first year of truly believing in the Santa thing, lots of build up at nursery, doing Xmas songs and so on. Magical.

Dh is going to be thrilled with his stuff, then moan about it probably costing too much (tightarse!)

I looooove Xmas food, nibbles and treats, so that's me happy! But I know dh has put a lot of effort into searching for suitable pressies on ebay, so I'm sure he's got some fab stuff (cheap books etc) he knows exactly what I like. Bless.

This year should beat the shit out of the year when he got everything for me from the garden centre on Xmas Eve. Bless him he tried but it was shite. I was not impressed and tried very hard to say 'ooh just what I always wanted' but he saw the look in my eyes when I unwrapped the perspex paperweight...

We laugh about it now...

SingleMum01 · 12/12/2009 22:02

I'm really excited - bought an extra remote for the Xmas Wii. Must really get out more

OP posts:
Nemofish · 15/12/2009 01:01

No that's good SingleMum01 - means you're a cheap date easy to please!

I will admit to going a bit loopy this year, not so much spending wise, as concept wise. I have bought stuff that we would have bought anyway in the next year, but I've brought it forward so Xmas is more of an event this year. God that sounded long winded...

But as others have said, we have had sad Xmas'es in the past due to bereavements.

And I'm thrilled that I've got a sticky toffee pudding thing instead of an Xmas cake for dh and dcs and a mini Xmas cake for me.

Love mini stuff, so cute and you can eat more of'em...

SingleMum01 · 17/12/2009 14:27

I don't think a remote is cheap I bought one with a motion controller - oh-er!

OP posts:
Nemofish · 17/12/2009 20:41

Did it come with a little rubber sleeve, or is it -gasp- nekkid? (Double oo-err)

SingleMum01 · 18/12/2009 11:58

LOL - I don't know I haven't opened the box or read what in it! I'm hoping for good times on Xmas day though!

OP posts:
Nemofish · 18/12/2009 18:25

Shame they don't have vibrate function like the PS2/3... sigh...

Or do they? Will have to check.

SingleMum01 · 18/12/2009 19:47

If they haven't I'm sure they will in time!
