How do you display your cards?

I just usually blue-tac them onto all our doors but they get knocked off, bent etc. Had lovely beams to string them on in the last house but not the new one. Would like to be more 'tasteful' lol !

I sellotape them onto the sort of open doorway/archway thing to the dining bit and onto the wooden part of the staircase which is also in the living room and put some on the mantlepice.

Wherever there is a space basically.

Also, I have two of those ikea strings with little pegs on them (hearts and trees) and I pin them to the wall.

jemart · 11/12/2009 19:34

length of string, a few drawing pins and an expanse of wall.

Also some go on the mantlepiece, some hang on the mirror above it. Any other available ledge or shelf.

My parents have a cardboard display thingy they hang on the kitchen door, cards slot into it in a spiral.

But all my walls are covered in pictures and photos....it will look so cluttered?! What a pain! Anyone else?

I have long strips of tape (the white tape you buy to hem stuff with cannot think of the name of it).

I drawing pin it to the ceiling so it hangs vertically down the wall. Then I use paperclips to clip each card on at an angle. The paperclip only clips the back onto the tape so you can still see sent the card if you want to without removing it.

My MIL does it this way too.

CybilDisturbance · 11/12/2009 20:05

I dont bother. They get stuffed behind whatever and recycled ASAP

hocuspontas · 11/12/2009 20:14

Similar to wangle - I use 1" wide tartan ribbon and staple the backs of the cards onto it. It doesn't take up much room - you can get 3 strands of ribbon (about 60 cards) onto a door. I use blu-tack to stick the ribbon on the doors or the wall.

I used to sellotape them to doors until last year.....

Where I discovered it was best all round to read them, smile and put them straight into the recyling bin.

I cannot believe it took me THIS long to realise that I can do this and not feel in the slightest bit guilty!

have just logged on to ask exactly this question. Thanks cherry.

We have no flat surfaces in our house (rented) - not a mantlepiece, shelf nothing.

Lapsedrunner · 12/12/2009 19:26

Same as hocuspontas - get some ribbon & staple cards on. So far this year they are sitting in a pile and we are going on holiday tomorrow

figrollinthehay · 12/12/2009 20:34

I hate the clutter of cards everywhere so we got something similar to this this year:

brimfull · 12/12/2009 20:36

I put them in a big bowl - a nice pottery bowl mind you.

TeaOneSugar · 13/12/2009 17:24

We've got an over door card hanger, Not this one but similar, all cards go on it, family ones at the front, others stuffed behind, nice and tidy.

We don't have a mantlepiece and nowhere really to put cards, and I don't like them all over the walls, I'd like a non christmas one for birthday cards really.

I just pin up some string and hang the cards on that, as part of the Christmas decorations.
