whats that stringy stuff you throw on trees called?

It's usually gold but i would like some in silver?
I thought it was angel hair but have become mixed up with pasta < food mad emotion>

anyone know and even better - know where it can be purr chaysed?

my mother is very anal about her tree and we used to spend hours putting the lametta away each year
