To wrap.... or not?

Basically, I am a split personality at Christmas- when it comes to buying presents I am as Tiny Tim, full of wonder and excitement.. but when it comes to actually wrapping the f*ckers I access my inner Scrooge. So I thought, you don't really need to wrap stocking presents do you? They don't see them till christmas morning anyway and it's dark and it will stop me waking up on Boxing Day with scraps of wrapping paper stuck to my forehead with remnants of fuzzy selloptape
Genius I thought but DH says no, then it'll only take them 2 minutes to get them all out rather than 5 to unwrap. I see his point but I still like the idea.
So.. does anyone not wrap?? I need ammunition.

I wrap stocking fillers in crepe coloured paper - just sort of bunch it around them and stick down with a sticker - it takes seconds.

Part of the fun of stockings is squeezing them and trying to guess what it is?

I never wrap stocking fillers, does anyone need their bed covered in shredded paper at 6 in the morning?

I wrap everything in recycled brown paper, 99p for a mahoosive roll from Smiths. Tie it up with red string to make it look pretty, and on 'big presents' I use a silver or gold marker and write the recipient's names straight on to the wrapping papper in nice italic handwriting.

Cheap as chips.

noooooooo don't wrap stocking fillers drives me nuts, to much wasted paper.

FlamingoBingo · 09/12/2009 11:53

Sorry, I'm a wrapper here, although I hate it from an environmental point of view!

ImSoNotTelling · 09/12/2009 12:09

yes all wrapped apart from the chocolate money

SantaClausImWorthIt · 09/12/2009 12:15

I bought recycled/recyclable wrapping paper this year

Clary · 09/12/2009 12:17

ooh yes I wrap. It's madness really but it adds to the excitement (I have 3 DC and some things they get are the same).

I see why you wouldn't tho.

I wrap everything but in brown paper and string. That way nothing is ever less exciting than the wrapping paper. Ever open a mahoosive beribboned box to find Lily-of-the-valley talc? It's not right...

Marne · 09/12/2009 12:39

i dont wrap stocking fillers (too fiddly), i only wrap big presents.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 09/12/2009 12:41

I wrap stocking fillers too , gets us an extra 5 mins in bed

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 09/12/2009 15:00

I do stocking fillers too that way we need less of them to fill the stocking and it takes dd time to unwrap each one rather than tipping out followed by a quick rummage. I use tissue paper that has invariable got squashed in my craft box and is of little use to anyone.
