Urgent - Words to 'Rudolph' needed!

I'm doing the words for our junior school song sheet & need to know the start of the last verse - the head googled it & came up with:

"Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee"

I remember it as

"Then all the other reindeer
laughed and shouted out with glee"

Can I have the MN jury's verdict?

TIA

I sing it as:
"Then all the other reindeer
laughed and shouted out with glee"

BelleDameSansMerci · 07/12/2009 14:45

I thought it was:

Then how the reindeer loved him
And they shouted out with glee...

Always thought they were nasty and fickle as they hadn't liked him before (but I have a tendency to over analyse).

Rudolph the Red nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw him
Youwould even say it glowed
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
Rudolph with your nose so bright
Won't youguide my sleigh tonight

Then how the reindeer loved him
How they shouted out with glee
Rudoplh the red nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history

BelleDameSansMerci · 07/12/2009 14:50

Fickle - as I thought!

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 07/12/2009 14:53

I remember it as 'laughed and shouted out with glee'.

That means nothing though, I have a history of miss-hearing song lyrics

Flame · 07/12/2009 14:58

laughed and shouted out with glee for me too

I always thought they were bloody horrible reindeer.

bran · 07/12/2009 15:04

I went to an all girls primary so I thought that raindeer behaved just like small girls (as others have said, fickle).

RustyBear · 07/12/2009 15:46

I make that 3-2 for 'laughed and shouted out....'

Thanks all!

definitely "laughed and shouted out with glee" here

scaredoflove · 07/12/2009 15:51

no laughing in the last verse, they shout out with glee that rudolph will be famous

Sorry to disagree but my ds is singing this in his concert and the words that have come home to practice are: "Then all the reindeer loved him as they shouted out with glee"

Do agree that they are a bunch of fickle reindeer though.

missismac · 07/12/2009 16:02

Definitely;
"then how the reindeer loved him,
and they shouted out with glee,
'Rudolph . . .etc,etc" definitely.

The other thing doesn't scan properly. How can it be sung to the right tune?

haggisaggis · 07/12/2009 16:03

My dcs sing:
Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer (reindeer)
had a very shiny nose. (like a lightbulb)
And if you ever saw him, (saw him)
you would even say it glows. (like a lightbulb)

All of the other reindeer (reindeer)
used to laugh and call him names.(like pinocchio )
They never let poor Rudolph (Rudolph)
join in any reindeer games. (like Monopoly)

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say: (HO Ho Ho)
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him (loved him)
and they shouted out with glee, (Halleluja)
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, (reindeer)
you'll go down in history! (Like the President)

Drives DH mad.

nickelbabe · 07/12/2009 16:05

i sang it as then all the reindeer loved him and they shouted out with glee.
but i don't think it matters if it's as or and.

but it definitely isn't laughed in the last verse: the laughed part is when they were mocking him earlier.

bloody shame on them. it's supposed to teach children to like others, but in this it only teaches them to like them once they've done something brilliant or become famous. they didn't even feel shame at being bullies.

bit like rainbow fish (selfish spoilt brat of a fish no one likes him then he gives his scales away and ooh, suddenly everyone likes him, so that's a great way to make friends: give them all presents!)

benfmsmum · 10/12/2009 15:27

Haggisaggis - do your children sing this in Dinky Poo?? Just heard that version in a concert last night! My apologies if you don't know what on earth I am talking about!!
