Have had to cancel our 3 night trip to London for santa grotto/natural history museum/shopping with the DCs as DH has had something come up with work [grrr] Booked it in July and have been looking forward to it all year but ho hum, am not annoyed at all

I have managed to talk him into still taking Tuesday off so we can go somewhere Mon pm, stay in a Premier Inn and have a nice day together Tuesday and travel home Tuesday night.

DCs are 3yo and 1yo and I am obsessed with quite into Christmas, but going to Gulliver's world with friend on Sat so don't want to do tacky or theme park type stuff twice in a week.

Live near Manchester and would prefer a journey of no more than 2 hours or so. Any ideas? Someone please save my husband from being haranged (sp?) for the rest of the year for ruining my trip!

It's supposed to be really good. The children would love the interactive museum at the Millenium Waterpoint (I have to prise my DS out of the cafe/garage/doctors bit)

Hi Lenni

Snowdome Winter Wonderland isn't toooo far a drive from Birmingham. The people who went from our school last year loved it, mainly I think due to the real snow and reindeer experience.

My Mum loves the Christmas market and always says she feels 'in the mood for Christmas' after she's been. Not been myself though.
