Advent calenders, when do your dc open them, morning or evening?

Evening, after dinner

Opens it in the morning, but eats the contents in the evening after dinner.

We have one of those wooden box type things with lots of doors - she's more excited to see that the Elves have visited every night to put a sweety in the box than she is about actually eating it.

Morning, but we don't have a chocolate one.

This year ds has a Playmobil one - the police one, which I have just finished assembling.

He and I also each have one with pictures in, and we have an annual competition, where we guess what is going to be in the picture for each day. If we get the correct item on the correct day we get 2 points, and if we find an item we have guessed but on the wrong day it's 1 point. Last year ds won hands down due to the crap pictures in my quirky nature of my advent calendar, which my sister had sent me. Hope she has selected something with better pictures this year!

in the morning after breakfast, DD has a fabulous princess one this year.

Note to self for next year:-

Start assembling Playmobil Advent Calendar on or around the 25th of November.

I have the phoenix cards advent calender for DD too. It's really nice, adding to it each night. Today it was a star.
It's in her room , and looks really christmassy.

DS1 is 18 now, so he will probably open his when he gets back from the pub!
