Bit Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen for my taste I'm afraid. Think the mats with the runner would look a bit busy maybe?

FreeGeorgeJackson · 29/11/2009 19:26

i dont use a table cloth
why?
you just have to wash it

Wags · 29/11/2009 19:27

This M&S one, the Damask one, is a bit more toned down, but twice the price

RainDropsPlop · 29/11/2009 19:30

Its gorgeous wags.

I love the runner so will ditch those mats and find some plain ones.

I really do want a tablecloth, what colour would go best under that runner?

these tablemats

will go well with your runner

MistletoeMonster · 29/11/2009 19:34

Sorry

meant
these tablemats from John Lewis

Wags · 29/11/2009 19:36

Mmm, now THOSE tablemats Mistletoe but with the original runner would be OK I think. Was just looking at tablecloths in John Lewis. Some Casa linen ones at a good price, one in Natural maybe? Got to go and listen to DD read now, will come back later!

Wags · 29/11/2009 19:54

Another plain one

RainDropsPlop · 29/11/2009 19:58

Those mats are fab mistletoe but a bit out of my budget. I need 6 and couldn't afford them at those prices

My budget is a small one

Love that runner wags but I think I'm going to try and work around the runner I linked to.

So I need to find mats and a tablecloth that go with it

Do you think I need black plates and bowls?

The runner is good, but I agree the tablemats would be too much!

I would go for a black tablecloth (would disguise any spills) and red mats.

White china would be great - not sure I would like to eat my meal off a black plate!

Monty100 · 29/11/2009 22:34

I don't like eating off black crockery? Not nice.

If there's an Allders near you they had £30 black (with a bit of sparkle) tablecloths yesterday for £10.

Wags · 29/11/2009 22:42

Wow, only just seen the price of the JL mats... eek. Next have a selection of table cloths and placemats in plain colours, also have a look at Debenhams on line, some stuff is reduced as well.

ThatVikRinA22 · 29/11/2009 23:18

i got some really nice stuff in next for xmas table, a lovely table cloth, runner and mats etc.

but am annoyed with them atm as tried to order some more stuff tonight and half of its sold out! gah!

HellBent · 29/11/2009 23:29

Matalan is quite good to, I got my stuff there last year. They had cute bauble place settings that you could write your name on. They only cost £2 but everyone was very impressed!
