Some people/places get dates available before others.

Not sure if it's the regular shoppers or if it goesy region.

Maybe busyer areas hold them back for longer?

TwoToTango · 26/11/2009 16:22

Mine only showing up to 16th.

I tried the changing the URL trick and booked a slot for 23rd. got a call last night to say it had been cancelled. Checked and my order has disappeared!!

DaftApeth · 26/11/2009 16:28

I bet they've got someone on watch 24hours/day to keep an eye on us all

DippyDino · 26/11/2009 16:42

Thanks, have booked my order for the 23rd, whooppee! All 'legal' this year!

Can't wait. Brussel sprouts. Terrys choc orange. Tesco takeaway and party food 'to share' (pah!) are the best.

TitsalinaBumsquash · 26/11/2009 16:51

Mine is still the 16th, i will kepp my hawk like eyes on them for when they change, although customers who shop online reguarly get advanced dates if they are in the top 10 percent of online customers in the area. (or so im told!)

It was hilarious last year with us all being uber smug after changing the url then one after another the orders started dissapearing or being canceled over the phone. I got one with Sainsburys last year for the 23rd i was happy, no subs and a free bottle of wine becuase the driver was 10 mins late!

shoptilidrop · 26/11/2009 16:52

well, im pleased i checked this thread today!
just booked my slot, legally this year!
23 dec.. YAY!

roomforthree · 26/11/2009 17:00

Thanks for the heads up op. Booked mine for the 23rd.

Did the url change thing last year, and order was cancelled, so really pleased to get a "genuine" slot this year.

Picante · 26/11/2009 17:09

Do they really tell you off?

DaftApeth · 26/11/2009 17:26

I booked a slot, 'illegally', for my mum last year as she was abroad.

The only way I knew that it had been cancelled was by checking the slot obsessively every now and again and finding that it had vanished.

Luckily I managed to re-book it when it openned legally.

Mum came home to an email from them saying it had been cancelled. Don't think it was a telling off such though.

We must have royally pissed off a few people who had to spend time phoning and cancelling deliveries at their most busy time of the year

InmyheadIminParis · 26/11/2009 18:20

Just a thought - last year I was sent a voucher by Tesco, announcing when the Xmas dates were going to be online, and giving me a money off voucher (£5 or £10 I think) for when I booked my xmas / new year delivery slot. Might be a good idea to hold on for a few days to see if a lovely voucher is winging its way to you!

Picante · 27/11/2009 13:28

I had the phonecall this morning. Did feel slightly like a naughty school girl!

ItsAllaBitNoisy · 27/11/2009 13:38

What if you need to do another shop in the meantime? Can you do your shop for next week fro example, and then quickly re-book your Christmas slot?

WhatDidISayRoy · 27/11/2009 14:36

yes, you can keep shopping in the meantime, i have one or 2 per week, and each border has a unique number so no probs there.

OP posts:
WhatDidISayRoy · 27/11/2009 14:37

order

WhatDidISayRoy · 27/11/2009 14:39

Right then, I have 2 different accounts with Tesco and have just looked on my other one (only used a handful of times for voucher purposes) and I cannot get a christmas slot on there, so it does look like you get a priority booking if you use tezzers alot.

For info, for those who cannot get a slot yet. Maybe this is why?

OP posts:
shoptilidrop · 27/11/2009 14:56

ah - it might be. I booked my slot for the 23rd yesterday. Then this morning when i checked my emails i had one from tesco saying that as i was a priority customer i could book my slot from today.

So what you are thinking could be correct

DaftApeth · 27/11/2009 14:58

Did they put you on the naughty step Picante?

Modestlyglazed · 27/11/2009 15:01

Done it again this year.
I'm waiting for the phone to ring now.

ItsAllaBitNoisy · 27/11/2009 16:01

Thanks WhatDidISayRoy

MegGriffin · 27/11/2009 17:08

I had an email today inviting me to place my christmas order and a code for 250 extra points so dont forget to check your inbox before you book.

Modestlyglazed · 28/11/2009 13:43

Got my phone call!
Oh well!

comewhinewithme · 28/11/2009 13:55

I booked mine on Thursday didn't get an email though just logged in and noticed the slots were on.

amstar · 28/11/2009 13:58

i have just got off the phone with tescos and they are only sending invites to people who spend allot with tescos apparently my £100 every 8 to 10 days does not make me a loyal customer so the man on the phone said and it doesn't matter that i use a tesco metro all the time as well. i think they are discriminating against customers hence why they wouldn't give me the criteria that makes me a "loyal customer". I think the only cause of action is to find a super market that wants my money
