Red Letter/Experience days.

Has anyone been on one of the Red Letter or Experience days? You know the ones - race around Silverstone in a ferrari, 4x4 driving, parachuting etc.
I am looking at getting my Dh a drive around a race track in an Austin Martin, but when I read the details, there is approx 8mins driving time
8mins for £100
Would love to hear if anyone has done this and what they thought.

Personally I wouldn't do it.
I booked one last year for DH and it was a nightmare trying to get something booked. He kept phoning them every few weeks regarding dates and they said they'd email when dates were released and every time they emailed they were either dates he couldn't do or they were already booked, even if he phoned as soon as he received the mail.
The voucher has now expired, they refused to extend it even though they'd previously said they would and so I wasted over £100.
If you can find one that you can book direct, ie not spend your money, send of a form and then spend months trying to book then great, go for it and let me know!

BTW, I wouldn't be suprised if it was only 8 minutes!
There is a company near the M25 that hires Aston Martins for the weekend or day. Very expensive but at least you know you'll get it when you want. Think they are often advertising on ebay

Thanks very much, Mumoverseas.
I've never seen these days recommended anywhere, so thought they might sound better than they are.
Sorry to hear you lost your money. I wonder how many other people end up paying for nothing?
Oh, well, Dh will have to be happy with the usual socks, pants and beer this christmas

I think its happened to a few people. Its just so hard to get the dates as they release very few each month.
I'm not saying they are all bad but both time I've bought them I've had problems.

If your DH is a petrolhead (like mine is) why not get him something like a Top Gear magazine subscription. Not too expensive but a nice gift. You can get them in WH Smiths and probably most newsagents. Last year I got mine from Next online.
At least you can buy yours beer, I can't, we live in a 'dry' country
