Because we'll all be panicking soon. I have no daughters, and grumpy sullen scientist sons who always get to be shepherds and nothing bling. My talents are wasted.

I offer: my genius Snowman costume. You need a white pop-up laundry basket and three buttons. Set to it with a knife for armholes. I find a good splodge of Sudocrem works well as face paint in an emergency, and dry shampoo sprayed liberally does wonders for white hair.

I thank you.

dd is a reindeer but as Blitzen she is not allowed a red nose (reserved for child being Rudolf) to her disapointment, after carfully arranging clothing suitable for her original role as pengiun before she got promoted to a part with 'lines' i need to sort it before next wed

Clary - thanks for the suggestions, I've already made his face and ears but will follow your idea about the tabard-style body.

frazzled - I bought some black fleece and cut out the shape of a sheeps face from a cereal box then covered it with fleece. I have stuck it on with cellotape as a temporary measure as ds announced last night that it had to be today . I'm not sure whether he was just excited about it or whether it really did have to go in today instead of tomorrow! I also had some sherpa fleece, folded it in half, cut a slit in the middle for ds to put it over his head (tabard-style as clary suggested) and this evening I shall sew it up the sides leaving gaps for his arms to go through. I'd been having a heated debate about the tail with my sisters on the weekend because I thought sheep had short stumpy tails but they said they have quite long tails so will go and do some research before I decide how to make/attach one!!

My DS is a chick. yes a chick. for a nativity play.

I need to find a yellow hoody and trousers by next Wednesday. Anyone have any ideas where to find them?

Shepherds outfit - Home Bargains £4.99. I can't sew so feel no shame for buying!

WillowFae · 04/12/2009 19:37

LadyG - Mothercare did a King one last year. DS isn't doing a nativity this year but a play about Santa so I haven't looked at the nativity costumes this year.

Thanks Willowfae-have found one at this site and shelled out for express delivery. Surely one weeks notice from school is a bit tight?
As they will have 90 children and they get to 'choose' their part if they are not one of the main parts he will be one of a multitude of Kings so will probably not even be able to spot him as he is quite little poor love. Wish I had paid more attention in needlework...

Dd1 is going to be a horse (I think it is actually supposed to be donkey, but hey ho).

She has a mask (provided by preschool, held together with sticky tape)

brown trousers (Primarche £2) with felt tail tacked on.

longsleeved tshirt (old one dyed brown)

AngryPixie · 04/12/2009 22:08

Another sodding snowflake here. There are NO boys white trousers in Winter and he would rather gnaw his own limbs off than wear tights!

God bless M&S

Boys white trousers - cricket whites?
Luckily DC's school provide costumes, otherwise I'd be scouring around for a camel outfit
