He has everything he needs (lucky bugger) :-
me not to mention gorgeous DS
but he is also HUGELY guilty of buying things throughout the year that I would like to buy him at Christmas.

He doesn't read much - doesn't really have much time in his defence - he emails on his commute. He might like a new ipod but got him one before so would be hugely dull.

He doesn't really have hobbies - he likes computer games but has all that he needs.

I am also in charge of buying for his whole family and like getting clever thoughtful things but after 11 years together I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Any jokey presents get left in a drawer and then I feel bad that I've wasted money on them.

I can't get him a hamper?! He's my DH fgs not my auntie.
Argh, please help!

How about an 'experience' of some sort? I have got mine tickets for us to see Peter Kay thus year. We have previously bought each other vouchers for wine tasting/lunch at the 3 Choirs vineyard, tickets for Bob Dylan, Mitchell and Webb, a voucher for Rick Stein's cooking school and various similar things.

hmmm.
Nice bottle of whiskey
An experience - driving day, hand gliding, hot air balloon etc
Antique barometer (thats what my DH wants !)
Digital weather station
Magazine subscription

errrr - not sure what else

Hello
Thanks both - am a bit at me wits end
Ooh maybe an experience? But would need to find a really good one (he's done a couple of the driving ones)
Maybe something FOOD related?
He doesn't do whiskey..

Here's what I've got my DH

electric mandolin (he already has guitars)
shoes that he wanted from the net
drumsticks that you play in the air
stylophone
clip on guitar tuner
vasalines cd
honda long sleeved tshirt
waling base layer
personalised bottle of red wine
all from buyagift and amazon

pure purple - how odd - I was going to get my dh an electric mandolin (being the impatient fool he is he went out and bought himself one last week ). Must say the horrible twangy high pitched noise is driving me effing loopy. Come back guitar, all is forgiven.

I'm also planning to get him a clip on guitar tuner - where'd you get yours from?

EtheB
amazon
this one here

I have bought DH a posh shirt, a couple of T-shirts, books, sweeties to put in a Kilner jar, a couple of CDs and a w/e away in the New Year (good for me, too!).

Theatre tickets always go down well, because it's a treat you can look forward to.

Speaking of which, what about a magazine subscription?

BabyValentine · 24/11/2009 13:36

BBC Good Food magazine, Delicious etc.?

Hiring him a classic car/cool sports car for a weekend if he enjoyed the driving experiences? You'd get to enjoy it too then, he could take you away for the weekend!
