is it a good idea to have a xmas tree in my living room with my toddler?
He is 1, toddling around and being curious with everything. I am worried that the xmas tree will last about two minutes on its feet and that any decoration will be pulled apart.
Then again it would be strange not to have a xmas tree...
theres no place in my home where the xmas tree would be safe...

could you get a smallish tree and put it up on a bit of furniture that's out of reach?

if not, I suggest electric fencing!

Have you got a playpen?

Or, could you put it in a corner and put the soft across the corner so that there is no direct access to the tree?

Last year I blocked mine with the side of a sofa and the side of a playpen .

This year, I am having it unblocked - DS is 3.8 and DD is 1.8 - DS will definitely understand that he must not touch it unless I am there and DD will definitely understand, but it is a question of whether she will obey!

Small one high up, I like crokky's idea of having it blocked in behind a sofa. Failing that make sure it can't be pulled down & have your decorations high up.

Your toddler will love the tree so it would be a shame not to have one

Oh I meant to say put up late & then if it is driving you mad you can take it down early!

You can get half trees to hang on the wall, my mum does this as she doesn't have much space. The other great thing about this is that it can't be pulled over onto DC, just don't put it above the sofa!
