We bought the wooden toys r us for dd last year and it is great! Loads of stuff for £50! Saves buying all the room pieces separately. Ours in not painted either, but I don't think dd is bothered at all by that. I like it plain and wooden and no garish colours (makes a change from all the other plastic crap )
If you want colour, you can add le toy van accessories.

Also saw the Asda one (with pink roof) but it seemed to me to be a weird scaled size doll house. The dolls and furniture that you would need to go with it seemed a weird size?

Go for toys r us!

how do you mean weird scale?
i am hoping to getone that will fit dd's sylvanian family furniture in. she has lotsof sets of this but only a tiny little sylvanian house to put it in. she doesn't want a sylvanian house tho.

i might go and have a shifty at the toys r us one.

piratecat - the house was larger than a normal dolls house and all the furniture would need to be larger - about barbie size I reckon? So most other dolls house furniture sets would be too small. I know that I am being fussy about this, as my dd now puts dinosuaurs and fifi furniture in her house.....but still.....

Theres one on this site, Rose Cottage for £47.50, doesn't come with any furniture though.
