Wheely Bug Help! - good present for 2 year old?

Ok I have searched the archives for this but am not having much luck.

Ds was 2 in July, would a large wheely bug be a good present for him?
I have looked at reviews but most of them concentrate on the smaller one and I fear he would be too big for this one.

So does anyone have a child of a similar age, do you have a wheely bug and do they use/enjoy it?

Oh and which one would you get?

Definitely the small one.

I made the mistake of getting dd1 a large one when she was 2. By the time she was big enough to ride it it had just become part of the furniture and she wasn't interested in it.

She's now 5 and can still scoot about happily on a small one when we visit friends who have them.

I'd only get one if you have wooden floors though, they're hopeless on carpets.

Yes a great present - my ds was at a creche where they had one it was the favourite toy and had to be rationed lol.

We have a wheelybug and it works brilliantly on our carpets, rugs and the kitchen laminate. DD loves it (she's 15 months, it was a first birthday present). Ours is the small one too.

We were going to get a Wheely bug for DS's 2nd birthday but ended up getting this instead.

It was just the right size, steerable and has been great. And once DS is too big to ride it, the cover comes off and can be a snuggly pillow instead.

He has always adored it and it's still a treasured toy 8 months later.

He scoots around our entire ground floor too and as it has rubbery wheels, it works on both the carpet and smooth flooring.

PS - they're available in lots of places, I just chose the top link. It may not be the cheapest...

dd had the small one when she was 1 and now (2.2) has completely gone off it in favour of a trike - she can;t pedal yet but it has a boot/bucket thing on the back she loads up with toys and scoots around with.

so, would dd2, a large nearly 4 year old be better suited with the large one? she is a big girl, in age 4-5 clothes.

sorry to contradict, but we have the big one and dd at 16 months can almost do it. personally, I'd go straight to big. x

Thanks everyone, he is a big two year old and I want it to last him. I might get a smaller one for DD for her 1st birthday in March.

I placed an order for the large tiger, hopefully it will be fine!

My large wheely bug arrived, I am not sure if it's definitely a large one?

It looks tiny.... if this is large then a small one would have been no good at all.

Will Ds definitely be able to spin about on it? I honestly can't see it lasting until he's 5, his knees would have to be up beneath his chin!

The bottom of a small one is about the sam
e length as my arm from my elbow to between the top two knuckle joints of my fingers, if that helps.

My big one is used by both my girls Dd1 is 6 and dd2 is 2
they love it!

Ok it's bigger than that I think professor, gosh it's a lot smaller than I thought it would be then. Good job I went for the big one!
Thanks lisa, maybe I'm just overthinking it! I love the way it can spin in circles on the spot, can you tell I was playing studying it very closely this morning?

I got DS2 one for his 1st birthday. I got the small one and he can JUST do it now at 20 months. He loves it
Ds1 age 4 can use it too, so am very glad I didnt get the large one!

We have the smaller one and my 5 year old can still ride on it, they play with it every day which is why dd2 is getting a large ladybird for x-mas.

It is a large one - it's written on the bottom of it (why I didn't notice this before escapes me)

I have actually stuck a sheet over it and sat DS on it, think it will be perfect.

His feet sit flat on the ground with his knees completely bent and up a bit. He is a bit of a gangly legged child . I'm glad of the replies on here, I feel a lot more confident that it will do him a while.

I got dd2 one last year when she was 1 and decided on the large one after starting a thread on here. Some people suggested that the larger size would last her longer. She hasn't ever had a problem riding it... but, tbh, only really become interested in it once she became mobile.
