Nothing, I hate NYE.

Having a nice meal at home, cooked by DH, with two other couples who are friends of ours. One couple have 2 DCs so the kids will be put to bed first, then we adults can eat and drink.

I was toying with the idea of booking to go out this NYE, as I'm expecting my first DC in Jan and therefore I can't see us going out alone again on NYE for years - I would never expect to be able to get a babysitter without taking out a 2nd mortgage. However, people are right - going out on NYE is massively overrated. It was always a recipe for misery, rejection and disaster when I was a teenager (remembering strings of awful visits to clubs and terrible parties) because of the pressure to be having a fantastic time at midnight, and prefebaly snogging some goodlooking new prospect if you were single. For 7 of the last 10 years I have either hosted a house party (and not one of the tearful teenage kind) or gone to one at a friend's house. This has always been much better than going out. But I can also well understand why some people just go to bed at 10.30 as well.
