After all the wish-list letters to Santa, careful planning/shopping, random purchases, requests to families/spouses - what has (so far) lived up to expectation? What is not nearly as wonderful as it seemed in the adverts? Any unexpected surprises - good or bad?

Hits: Harry Potter book, High School Musical Electronic Dance Mat, battery powered hamster that scuttles over the floor in a perspex ball, remote control dragonfly.

Misses: various bits of clothing that needs to be exchanged for different sizes.

ds is notoriously hard to buy for and this year was no exception...he had asked for a monkey which surprisingly he didn't get.
NO HITS!!! Almost everything is still in it's packaging of utterly no interest to him!!!! Was the same at birthday and last christmas. Ah well back to drawing board.

PSP for DS a big hit, but sadly DD hadn't told anyone she would like a nintendo DS lite and couldn't understand why santa had let her down.
She loved what she did get but is undeniably disappointed.

MouseMate · 27/12/2008 05:52

Hits:

Bike (of course - it was the only thing she wanted)
Dora Piano (although I am already fed up of it!)
Bindeez (arrrgh whatever possesed me?)
Bubble Machine
Scooby Doo Mystery Machine

Misses: Dora Roller Skates - Daddy shouted the first time she fell over and now she wont put them back on.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Gingerbear · 27/12/2008 07:19

hits:
DD (6) - Vtech camera, Apple Tree stables and ponies, playmobil horse box, DS Games - Ocean Patrol and My Horse and Me.

DS (18mths) Thomas Ride on, most of DD's presents, especially the Rainbow light and camera.

misses: only one thing - wheelybug ride on (DS's legs are too short yet, and DD has been whizzing around on it)

CharleeInPantoPaperChains · 27/12/2008 08:10

I have Nintendogs if anyone needs a hand with anything.

HollyCherry · 27/12/2008 09:55

Psycho - are you my long lost sister? Amongst pressies from my mum was a packet of 'feminine wipes'

Frizbe · 27/12/2008 10:01

Hits ds lites for the older ones, pink princess dress for the younger one and surprising hit with the snowglobe for dd1

Misses, random cheapy science game for ss and his miniature bonsai kit, another random present from one of dh's mates, he really didn't know what to make of it.

Acinonyx · 27/12/2008 12:29

Hits for dd 3.5:

Bike (the only thing she asked for)

ballet slippers (lessons start in Jan)

Angelina ballerina annual and DVDs

Kerplunk (but not always played as intended..)

Doll's house furniture

Baby dollies feeding bottles

miniture dinosaurs

SWEETIES!

Big cook little cook folder with recipes and apron (she's getting ingredients with dh right now)

Misses:

Jack and the beanstalk game (too rickety - doesn't work very well)

Little Princess book set - she likes them but the heroine thinks there are ghosts and monsters in her bedroom and dd got very nervous at bedtime!

Earlybird · 27/12/2008 13:20

Charlee - thanks for offer of help, but think we've got it figured out now.
