DH and I had a pact to spend only £10 on each other and one of his gifts to me was a photo frame - one of those ones that has space for 3 pictures side by side. He had put in pics on DS1, DS2 and, in the middle, us at our wedding. He typed at the top "You are our everything". At the bottom he wrote "The reason we smile, the reason we laugh, the reason we share, the reason we get up in the morning, the reason we care. Unconditional love from your 3 boys"

Sob

That makes up for his miserly antics the other day

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 25/12/2008 14:42

has to be the huge tin of Celebration Chocolates from my vicar, the only one of the 2 presents I got that I know was given with sincerity. The other was a gift box/hamper thing from my parents, indentical to the one they gave us last year

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 25/12/2008 14:43

which I meant to add mostly contains stuff I don't even like/use (proper coffee - no coffee machine, chocolate covered nuts, tea - don't drink tea etc etc).

That's lovely Schneebly.

My best present was a scrapbook that a friend said she would do when ds1 was born 3 years ago.
I opened it last night and it had me in tears almost immediately

oxocube · 26/12/2008 17:19

A cd of some of my favourite songs from our last 20 years together for my car. Dh chose the songs, ds burned the disk. Cost nothing except a blank cd and lots of thought and love.

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 27/12/2008 02:09

DH made a special trip to a book signing to have my copy of the latest book inscribed with a personal message. And he took a mate along to take photos of the author signing the book for me. I was blown away - not by the book itself, but by the care DH put into making it special to me. Lucky, lucky me.

My best gift this Christmas has been the generosity of people I had/have never met that gave gifts for my Dc's. My 'gift' has made my children smile and cry with happiness and I'll never ever receive such a wonderful gift than that memory. Thank you!

hunnybun1981 · 27/12/2008 09:20

TisTheSeasonToBeSolo · 28/12/2008 00:13

I hope that your heart beats at that rate during your spin session and not at rest littlemisschatalot.

reindeersnake · 28/12/2008 01:39

How nice to see a thread for once about presents someone likes. Had been thinking present giving should be banned altogether!

mananny · 28/12/2008 01:57

My best presents were new snow tyres for my car! Sounds boring but it now means I can get around my region in my car with no issues (I live in New England and we get ALOT of snow from now til March!) otherwise I would be housebound and going insane!

AbbaFan · 28/12/2008 09:59

DH got me my own pink laptop - i love it!
