Making it real... What do you do?

Two years ago we stomped some muddy footprints around the fireplace. Last year I left a bit of ripped red felt (from Santa's coat) on a hook in the fireplace and this year I was a bit stumped. I have a feeling they will be searching for some evidence.

So inspiration struck after a glass of well-deserved wine and I have placed a pile of chocolate covered brazil nuts in the fireplace. One of those naughty reindeers did a poo down the chimney.

I will have to whip it away quickly before they ask why reindeer poo smells of chocolate.

So do any of you have tricks I can steal for next year. It's such fun.

I'm a bit disturbed by the reindeer poo, mainly cos it will look like chocolate brazils and not poo. Have you considered taking a crap in the fire place yourself?

In absence of the above, I have some of that fake snow you add water too and it gets massive so we're going to leave a bit of that around. What about a little bell and ribbon - dropped by Rudolf?

Chop up a carrot really roughly and chuck it outside the back door, al a reindeer!

I've done the red material, the foot prints too!

what's the best thing to use for snowy footprints?

So how can I make my poo look more real without actually scooping the real stuff out of the litter tray (I do draw the line somewhere). My ds will fall about laughing so really want to do this. So help please.

my ds3 aged 8 is thrilled with the button idea

we used chocolate peanuts for pooh, sprayed glitter (magic dust) over all the presents and on the floor. most people i know do icing sugar footprints but i'm not sure if all kids would be fooled by it.

i think i remember someone saying they caught santa on camcorder sneaking in. not sure how that works though.
