Tesco, turkeys and chickens - am I just being cynical?

So I went to Tesco today and I notice that they only seem to have really small chickens. The size that cost around a fiver for a happy chicken. I'm thinking this is an attempt to make me buy a very expensive turkey for our Christmas meal for three. Anyone else noticed this at their local Tesco?

Bumping. Honestly I'm interested. And I need to know if I will actually be able to find a decent sized chicken for Christmas day!

I made a special trip to Sainsbury's today for my chicken ..... as there's only 4 of us on the day I wasn't going to pay ridiculous money for a "small" (i.e. really quite big) turkey which would go to waste.

Got a decent sized free range "taste the difference" chicken for £11.50 .... use by 26 Dec so that's okay.

As for being cynical about Tesco, I am cynical about them all year round, never mind Xmas.

I think it might be cheaper to go for a week's worth of turkey than make the 300 mile round trip to Sainsbury's!
