I haven't eaten it since I was about 7 at a school dinner-it was dry and vile.

Most of my family are of the same ilk-turkey has never been a tradition.

We range each christmas from chicken to beef, pork and venison-goose seems to fatty imo.

DH refuses to eat turkey.

This year we are having venison again, but we have done goose in the past.

I do miss the cold turkey sandwiches though.

Dh doesn't mind cooked turkey while it is moist but hates it cold, so considering there are just four of us, and one of those is 14 months, and teh other is a picky toddler, we can't really manage it. We normally have pheasant or beef but this year we are going to be given a turkey so I have to joint it and freeze it for another time!

I actually ate turkey the other day - silly team meal from work. Was utterly dry and inedible. Had to force it down with multiple glasses of (bad) wine. Yuck

We usually have turkey (or goose, or duck), and DH usually moans. So I have decided to do Beef Wellington this year- that way noone will moan and any leftovers will easily fit in the fridge without me having to carry out a dissection! Oh, and it's a couple of spare housr on the day itself too, and won't give anyone food poisoning if it is done slightly rare.

I am doing chicken, not keen on turkey at all, I thik all the years of using turkey breast instead of chicken for everyday meals as it was cheaper has put me off for life.

We always have beef. The way I look at it, if turkey is so great why does nobody eat it during the rest of the year?

BexieID · 18/12/2008 23:41

I love turkey sarnies! We are going to the PIL xmas day/boxing day, but are doing our own xmas dinner new years day!

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 18/12/2008 23:46

I HATE turkey - would rather eat cardboard. We tend to have duck. Have had goose a couple of years but on the whole I prefer duck. One year we had a MASSIVE fish. That was pretty tasty.

turkey is GROSS

I usually have lamb, but this year the Co-op had an offer on beef topside, soo that's what we're having. I will miss the lamb but to be honest we NEVER have been, and we can have strong gravy and cabbage and yorkies and the children love yorkies!
