If I make mince pies today will they still be ok to eat on xmas day/boxing day?

Am making mince pies as part of a gift for someone.
I'm not a natural cook and have no idea how long these things last for....

When should I be making them?

Yes.
Just make sure they are completely cool before you store them in layers between greasproof paper in an air tight container. Or you could make them and freeze them cooked or raw to bake off as required.

They freeze brilliantly, so you can bake them now, freeze them and whip them out then night before you want to give them. Mmmm, make me some while you're at it.

But will they still be around by then? Not around me they wouldn't!
