I only have 2 children surely its not that much effort to add their names!!!

I sent a card to Janet, John and family, was it you??

What an odd thing to get angry about!
You must get cross very easily.
OUr card from my B-I-L and S-I-L reads, 'from all of us in Lancashire to all of you'. Cannot imagine taking umbrage at this.
I often forget the names of friend's children or am unsure of how to spell them.
'and family' is totally acceptable and polite.

We had one from a family and they include the cat's name in it (and a 'paw') FGS
