What shall I take to PIL's on Christmas Day?

We've been invited for dinner and MIL enjoys doing it all but what could/ should we take? I will probably end up ringing and asking but just incase but I thought I'd see if you lot have any ideas?

Well, yes I would ask her. Perhaps you could offer to do a cheeseboard? Or take something really nice bubbly or port?

I am making salami and brie tarts and a dessert of some kind - probably trifle or berries and cream in meringue cases to take to my aunts for christmas eve.

i would take a nice hand tied bouquet that can go straight in a vase or is already wrapped in the watertight cellophane and a bottle of champagne and a bottle of sauternes...whats not to love with that combo? you could also take a game to play?
