Adult stockings - help!

So... year after year I've done my best to make/buy thoughtful gifts for my inlaws, ones that I know each will like etc but am fed up of sneers and checking what others get (and we get crap presents but thats neither here or there - its less about what I get but more the effort that other put in if you see what I mean?). Well- last year I had stockings made for the siblings in law ie three BiL's and 2 SiLs. I don't get on at all with Fil & MiL, and have no great relationship with the others; we don't go to family events etc but pitch up every few months to say hi and because every few months DH wants to give them another "go".

I stuffed the stockings with a bottle of wine, candy canes, nice chocs, miniature smellies for ladies and similar for gents and some jokey stuff too. They appeared to go down well and this year I am doing the same but am stuck! I have bottles in each, facepacks sachets, mini manicure kit, etc in the lasses' ones and the blokes so far have brazil nuts and humbugs with their wine - all hom bargains stuff but need more very cost effective ideas to fill both. Can anyone help - because of the strange family balance/relationship I want it to look good (for DH)but need it to be cheap!

tiny jars of jam/honey/preserves (most supermarkets do these)
'exotic' foods
credit card torch
mini bottle opener keyring
ear plugs (great when staying over at Xmas)

Men are impossible. For my brother, I popped to Superdrug - loads of special offers at the mo - and got some Original Source shower gel - always seems nice and manly! - you can get little travel versions which are nice for stocking fillers. If they're outdoorsy types, you can get little SFs in Milletts/Blacks - sporks and so on!

Hawkins Bazaar have fun gimmicky things that don't cost the earth.

home made biscuits?
writing paper and envelopes?
nice bottle of fruit cordial (cheaper than wine and nice and big)

Get your DS to make some food like cookies or peppermint creams. Put them in pretty bags with a bow.

For PiLs how about some small wallet sized photos of their grandchildren?

Really nice qulaity hot chocolate.

Nice coffee?

You are all fantastic - thank you!!! scribbling these down on my "to do" and "to buy" lists. Why can some families be so much hard work when others are just fab lol! My family (Im one of 6!) are all stars and Xmas is a real joy (we all still go to Mum & DAds with husbands, wives and kids in tow!).

Thank you all so much - any other ideas also welcomed, for me and Im sure others too!

I diddo well in home bargains with things like the facepacks at 40p each, exfoliating gloves 99p a pair etc.

The car cleaning kit Ive actually done for my BiL on "my" side. Filled a bucket with chamois, different cleaners, wipes, cloths, sponges, air fresheners etc and have a "Drive music" CD and am in the process of putting it together as a car bucket hamper. Quirky but he'll love it! I picked things up everytime I went to tescos or one item everytime I went near a pound shop etc.

Oh and PiL I got a hamper from a garden centre - looks lovely actually and was £16.99 (bargain!) which is for them both.
