How many points does a Christmas star have?

dd has a starring (geddit) role in the Christmas eve childrens Mass. She has to dress up as a star and it is becoming a matter of breat debate in our house as to how many points she should have. I was going to go for 5. dh says it needs 8 - 4 big sticky out points and 4 minor points.
Or of course we could go with 6.
Sp what do you reckon?

Should be 6 as the Star of David from the Bible story traditionally had 6 points. It really bugs me that 6-pointed stars are so hard to find! The points would all be the same size.

I think 5. Looks prettier like that. Harder to draw though.

5, the continuous line type or 8 as your dh said - would depend on the style of the show i think, 5 being a little more cutesy/ cartooney. 6 points is the star of david.

oh goodness. Now I don't know again. oh I am so over thinking this!

After much deliberation (and a bit of googling) I've come to the conclusion that the Star of Bethlehem does indeed have 8 points.

I suppose dh has to be right sometimes.
