Digital Photoframe

I'm thinking of buying my parents a digital photoframe. They're not hugely technical so if they're difficult to operate, they won't be able to use it.

Has anyone any experience of them with older people?

My SIL and BIL were given one last Christmas from their DS they didn't have a clue what it was at first. The DIL eventually sent her the 'stick' loaded with lots of photo's of her family. My DH went down and installed it for them, they have rarely used it as it needs to be near a power point and somewhere to display it and they have neither. Forgot to say SIL is 75 and neither her or husband are technical minded, also other son doesn't have a digital camera so no photo's of his family.

My brother bought my mum one last year but gave it to her already loaded up with photos so all she had to do was plug it in. She was very pleased with it.

I have bought 3 this year and uploaded a USb and even put it in the right slot and back in the box, so a ll the recipients have to do is plug it in.
Just don't go for an overly expensive one, as you will be paying for features that probably won't be used.

We have got one for my mum's 70th in Jan.

We are going to load it or a memory stick with various family photos so it is ready to go.

I have one. And I have to say, since setting it up 18mths ago, I have not changed the photos on it.

I do really like it though.

I'm giving these to my SIL and DH this year, but NOT to my ancient parents, who still say things like "I couldn't get the internet to work again." I have printed them out a very nice picture and sent it in a lovely, low-tech frame.
