OUTDOOR XMAS LIGHTS

I have a tree in my front garden i would like to put white lights on - can you get some that are like on a net you just chuck over or have i dreamt it (the tree is about 8ft tall and like a leaf less tree so sticks!) Anyone seen any anywhere - also saw some on ebay that just go on as normal but are solar powered... anyone experience of these - dull or ok?

DH is a tight arse so i need to source and erect myself as if i involve him it wont happen!
