I always try to send things made of fabric/cloth, so for kids presents I send clothes, for my mum I might send her a nice scarf or something. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? Half of our family live in America and I learned my lesson the first year when I sent a huge box with heavy stuff and chocolate in-- cost a fortune and the chocolate melted!!

What about a nice book/books? I've sent paperback books before, in a padded envelope... cookbook maybe?

order online, and have it delivered to their address. that way, you dont pay any extra postage
