Thought it would be handy to start a thread!!!

You should all get an ID number for parcels, so please quote it in your thanks (you can name change ) to make life easier for people checking their parcels have been received!

for Christmas Spirit!

Ref 1613 and 1614

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the two wonderful parcels.

Ref 1613

Thank you so much for the lovely books (all 5 of them!!)! I know DS will adore them, especially Each Peach Pear Plum. You must be psychic as we had just got back from returning it to the library, and he really didn't want to part with it. We'd already renewed it 3 times so couldn't really keep it again.

They're all wonderful choices, and thank you for taking the time to think about what you think he'd like - they're all perfect for him. I love the red reindeer bag they all came in too. I may use it as my bag on Xmas day

I am so touched by your generoisty effort. I wish you a wonderful Xmas and much joy in 2009 x

Ref 1614

Your parcel arrived this morning, thank you so very much! The ParcelForce man was confused by the MN of the house label

All the gifts are amazing - again, are you psychic?! DS is obsessed with Lightning McQueen, so the plate and mug set is perfect. He will love the cars and the fire engine will delight him (fire engine obsessed). And the AquaDraw!!! Truly amazing, it will save a lot of pen/wall interaction

The biscuits and chocolates will be hidden from DP (well I might let him have some ) and I look forward to using some of the gorgeous bath treats too.

I can't believe in your card you wrote it's not a lot...! There was so much stuff I cannot believe it. Thank you so much x

Thank you to whoever nominated me - I think I know who you are or might be, but I won't out you. Thank you so very much for thinking of me x

StG - congratulations on a job very well done!

We've had a shitty year with DP being made redundant, still not working and his worsening health. So to be part of this has made me smile so much. To be thought of by 'strangers' at times like these restores my faith in kindness.

I heart MN

I could write more but I've waffled on for too long, but thank you again.

Soveryverygrateful · 19/12/2008 11:37

Just got a text from DP. I left for work before him and DS were awake, so they didn't know 1614 had arrived.

Text said

"DH is jealous of DS and DW"

Proving he does have a gander at MN occasionally

Elf1613 · 19/12/2008 11:51

soveryverygrateful - glad you liked the books - I was a bit worried that you might already have them.
My two loved EachPeach too, but favourite was the Elephant and the Bad Baby, so be warned - I had to read it so many times that I can still recite a lot of it now (rumpeta, rumpeta, rumpeta, all down the road....) - and DS is 21 next week!
Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Soveryverygrateful · 19/12/2008 12:24

No, we don't have any of them Elf1613, they all fab. I'll look forwrad to settling down with DS to read @The Elephant...' on Xmas day. Lol you can still receite it!

Santa1614 · 19/12/2008 12:45

Soveryverygrateful I'm glad everything arrived safely. I know some of the toys are a little old for your ds (3+), but I didn't want to get him anything that he would outgrow too quickly. I wasn't entirely sure what to get your ds (as I have a 1 year old dd), but my 3 year old nephew was more than willing to sit me down and explain exactly what he thought was cool! So you have him to thank for the Cars plate set AND the AquaDraw as well.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I'm honoured I was able to contribute.

ThankyoufromThurso · 19/12/2008 12:53

More parcels!!!

SantaToThurso - I think you must know me and my family!!! Today I received through the post a beautiful watercolour set, with brushes, paper and palette - I had bought a set for dd2 earlier this year and dd1 has been coveting it ever since ... thank you so much!!! I also opened the envelope containing a book and found a fabulous book on needle felting ... perfect!!! I will be putting it to use after Christmas (but for now it is getting wrapped up with the other things so that I have something nice to open on Christmas Day!)

1314

Thank you from the bottom of my heart - your gifts are so thoughtful and right up my street. There's nothing I love more than to relax in a bath and I love candles (but don't have any!) - so I shall smell gorgeous in 2009 . You are very kind .

ChiefElf · 19/12/2008 13:00

For those asking about missing parcels.

I will be chasing recipients to ask, but not until Monday at the earliest.

If someone misses a delivery and has to collect from a sorting office, they may not be able to do so until the weekend.

I want to give everyone ample opportunity to do so before I risk spoiling any surprises.

SecretSantaReceiver1207 · 19/12/2008 13:28

do we ever get to find out who we are / the senders are?

I'm still in shock at S's family and their generosity at this time of year (thanks again, S)

spookycharlotte121 · 19/12/2008 13:56

This is getting mad now..... another couple of parcels arrived today, it was so generous! The first from secretsanta302 which was lovely, those socks are the coolest things I have ever seen, pity they dont do them in my size, Im liking those! And the little vest will be brilliant for dd, we dont have enough of the long sleved ones and they are perfect for going under dresses and pinafores (sp?)

Got another box as well full of toys etc Ref: 301 which was lovely.... I have alread eaten a few of the chocs and dd is playing with the bob the builder turcks. Ds will be very pleased when he wakes up from his nap and see's those. The clothes are beautiful too! The little boots are lush and I cant wait untill they fit dd, she will look adorable in them!!! There was so much other stuff in the box too, all of which will come in very handy, particually that toffy, i think me and ds will be fighting over it.

Thankyou once again. Doesnt seem enough just to say thankyou.

Charlotte x

spookycharlotte121 · 19/12/2008 13:59

that was supposed to say toffy bath stuff.

ChiefElf · 19/12/2008 14:14

I will not be automatically giving out any sender or receiver information.

If anyone wants to know who their sender is, ask on this thread.

If your sender sees it and is happy for you to know they can either post here or email me in private to pass info across, which I am quite happy to do.

janestillhere · 19/12/2008 14:18

Thank you whoever you are, I am so excited!

When I've opened it and found a reference number I will be back, for more gushing thanks! Am in the library now but have to do school run or I'd hang a round more...

Soveryverygrateful · 19/12/2008 16:17

Santa1614

A huge massive thank you again I thought you must have a similar age DS as they are all perfect for him. But input from 3 year old nephew is just as good!

TooTicky · 19/12/2008 18:11

To the person who sent me the wonderful Riverford box - how did you know I had missed the order deadline again?
All those wonderful things!!! The juice and the chocolate and...and...oh everything!! I am eating a glorious plate of salad with mixed sprouts and hummous as I type.
I heart you very very much.
Thank you!!!!!

TulipSandwich · 19/12/2008 18:13

I was just wondering, in a wondering kind of way, if somebody knew or suspected they knew who their santa was, what is the etiquette? Does one keep schtum?

PoinsettiasScareMe · 19/12/2008 18:24

Yup, I would say keep schtum - if they want you to know, then they will either say on here or in gift imo.

PoinsettiasScareMe · 19/12/2008 18:26

Oh if they named themselves though then I would say it is fine to thank them directly if you want to

twinklingtrace2 · 19/12/2008 19:39

ref 2003

hi lisa thank you so much for the gifts you sent my children and thank you for the letter you have made a great choice once again i have been reduced to tears because of the kindness and generosity you have shown us.

thank you soooooooo much both of you

psychosSecretSanta · 19/12/2008 19:51

LOL Psycho, it was meeeeee, meeeeeeeee I made them! Hooray, I had a tip off about the red, I'm so glad you liked them! Sorry about the scribbled message on the outside, suddenly realised I had given away what was inside the pressies if you opened the card first!

Merry Christmas to you and all your little dancers

NotTooTiredToThinkForChristmas · 19/12/2008 20:04

I am just pleased they have arrived twinklingtrace - I was convinced they would get lost!

Your dcs are so beautiful and it was an absolute pleasure to do (it's even better now I have a face to put with the toys- if that makes sense?) - there is a card on the way to you with a little something just for you (sorry in advance it's not more).

Have a wonderful Christmas. I shall be thinking of your dcs opening their presents from Santa on Christmas morning.
