If anyone's been already to see Santa at Harrods this year, is it a realistic Santa? Like old man, real beard etc or not. Just wondering, as were due to visit next week. DD
is asking if its "the real Santa" or one of his helpers lol

It is always very good.

We are going on the 20th.

I have not been yet this year, but we go every year. Their Santas are the most realistic I have seen anywhere. My only complaint is that they will not deviate from the line that they are real even if a parent is trying to do the whole "No-one has ever seen the real Santa but he has lots of helpers" thing like I did one year!

mumto2andnomore · 01/12/2008 18:32

Yes he looked very real and was lovely and friendly too.

Another MNer went this year and said her Santa had a fake beard.

We wen't a couple of weeks ago. On the train home, DD, who is 3.5 said " He had pretend hair stuck on his own hair"

We concluded it was a pretend Father Christmas.

What he actually said was very good, though.

He had local knowledge of our home town, and where we are going for Christmas, from flying over in his sleigh, aprarently.

LynetteScavo · 17/12/2008 21:51

Mmmm...the beard was fake....and he was a bit slim in the face....but hey!

nappyaddict · 17/12/2008 21:59

Do you live in London Lynette?

LynetteScavo · 17/12/2008 22:01

No, Warwickshire.

nappyaddict · 17/12/2008 22:03

Ah so not much closer than us. Do you think it was worth the train journey? Would you go again?

LynetteScavo · 17/12/2008 22:07

The whole trip to London for the day was worth the train journey. I was going to take them straight after school, as we had 6.30pm tickets, but took them out of school for the day insted.

I'm glad we did go for the day though, as to be honest I have been to better grottos.

nappyaddict · 17/12/2008 22:09

Hmm yes that's what I thought. What other grottos have you been to?
