Gift idea for 8 year old boy

Will only be about £10 spend. Gift idea for an 8 year old boy. The child is a bit hyperactive and constantly plays violent games on playstation etc.

Ideas appreciated. A book ? What are the favourite books for that age range at the moment ?

Any other ideas ?

Great sets of books on the Book People for that age. The Spy Dog ones are supposed to be good.

RC Car? Woolies have some reasonably priced ones and if he is hyperactive it will get him outside to burn off some energy.
