We have a takeaway and chocolate, lazy night with some xmas dvds and leave new pjs, xmas colouring book, dvd and story book on DS's bed for him to find.

Usually spend the rest of the night when DS has gone to bed putting pressies out and watching a dvd whilst hubby wraps mine

We do the PJs as an early gift too and go to church in the evening if we are at home. The am up all hours wrapping.Every ruddy year

DD1 was born on Boxing day so lots of our friends have Christmassy babies (we met in antenatal/bumps and babes groups and were all due around the same time).
Christmas Eve afternoon has been spent with them, doing a little party for the DC's for the last 2 years as we have two Christmas eve birthdays in the group, which I hope will carry on as its a lovely way to start the celebratingThis year they will all be 3 so they are getting excited about Christmas for the first time

LuckySalem · 25/11/2008 21:10

Yep - early to bed with TV on to watch the xmas films.

Haven't had xmas with DD yet but we're thinking we'll wrap all pressies once she's in bed.

We do the pj thing as well We spend xmas eve afternoon dropping of presents then we take dcs to a xmas party thats held at leisure centre every year (its free and huge buffet games and santa for kids!)

after we get kids to decorate a little mini xmas tree (for their brother who died when he was 10)we spray it with glitter and kids hang mini decs they make on it,dig out a special santa pot we keep in the shed and plant the tree take it to his grave. Its always very emotional but something we always all do together.

After we go home make final food prep for xmas day, crack open the bubbly (i will be on fizzy juice this year) fill the coffee table with loads of chocs and nibbles, watch xmas movies kids in new pjs and new fleecy
blanket with hot choc and marshmallows
Put stuff out for santa and kids to bed!

Then spend a couple of hours wrapping last of presents watching movies and showing dh what we have got kids for xmas

Oh i soooooooooooo love it!!!!!!!!!!1

Visit to the graveyard to put holly wreath on parents grave, it's always been Christmas eve as thats when my mum died.
Sweetie shopping for the kids(and oldies lol). Always leave sweets till last day, dont know why really, considering the queues. lol
Then helping Santa do his rounds when all the kids are asleep and deliver the pressies to friends houses etc for the morning.

Never been to midnight mass, but, this year might be a 1st.

Family Mass
Home for quick & easy tea
New pyjamas
Have a peek at NORAD to see if Santa has visited our friends in NZ already
Hang stockings, sprinkle reindeer food and leave goodies out for Santa
Poke around inside the turkey to see if it's thawed yet
Fall asleep on the sofa until it's safe to fill stockings
Bite a chunk from the carrot and conceal at bottom of bin.

We go to the carol service/nativity at our local church, then have 'nibbles' (this is buffet food!)at my parents house.

When I was younger my sister and I would get into out stockings and wear them as socks!!!

Then we put a carrot and water out for the reindeer and a mince pie and a tea/beer for santa, depending on that years choice.

love it!!!!
