Need ideas for a prezzie for my nan.
She is 82, still very active,
In the past I have bought purse, handbag, photo frames, tray, jewelry, watch, smellys, shopping trolly, brolly etc etc.
Need to think of something new for around £30.

Mumsnetters please help.

Theatre tickets?

Posh coffee, biscuits, nice jars of fruit etc?

A manicure or trip to the hairdresser?

Tas1 · 23/11/2008 15:40

Thanks Janeite

Fab ideas but have done Theatre tickets and tea at posh hotels for birthdays already.
Doen not eat biscuits, cake or chocolates.
Her daughter (my aunt) does her hair every saturday.

See what I mean, Its a nightmare!!

What about lovely soft blanket for snuggling up on the sofa in the evenings? Something nice and glamorous that can lie about during the day too? It's going to be a COLD winter...

Bird table for her garden

Planted tub/container (all year round one)

janeite · 23/11/2008 15:46

I like Orlando's idea!

How about some dvds of classic books and the books to go with them - Pride And Prejudice, Rebecca, Gone With The Wind - or audio books?

DesperateHousewifeToo · 23/11/2008 15:52

I used to get a bulb planter for the great grannies to put on their windowsill indoors. They no longer had room for anymore photos in frames, had little appetite and did not really read.

I did give a photo album one year so I could continue to give up-to-date photos.

Tas1 · 23/11/2008 15:56

Sorry norbertdentressangle, She lives in sheltered housing, no garden.

But I do like the idea of a blanket/throw. Thanks orlando.

Her front room is cream and green, anyone seen a nice one?
