Tasteful, unusual, but small presents (for adults)-Pedlars type stuff-any thoughts?

Pedlars for the uninitated

need quite small but "nice" presents, iykwim. I am struggling to describe what I mean really. Not stuff on boots 3-for-2.

What other websites are there like this? Am thinking etsy but need IDEAS for presents too.

Thoughts?

I haven't been to Pedlars for ages - I used to love their nightshirts ! sorry, that's not helpful. I like lapin and me for quirky odd things for my women friends, but don't think that's what you meant ?

PortAndLemon · 23/11/2008 08:55

etsy or folksy?

JackieNo · 23/11/2008 08:56

Plumo (again, best for women/girls).

Tn0g · 23/11/2008 08:58

Fillyjonk · 23/11/2008 08:59

JackieNo · 23/11/2008 09:03

Some nice stuff, and some slightly weird (poss even slightly offensive if you don't find it funny) at Twisted Twee (can you tell I have a whole folder of bookmarks called 'nice stuff to buy'?)

JackieNo · 23/11/2008 09:04

More gorgeous stuff for the home at Forma House

JackieNo · 23/11/2008 09:05

Fillyjonk · 23/11/2008 09:10

littlerach · 23/11/2008 09:28

Plumo is beautiful.

Aspen and Brown if you like home type stuff.

Cox and Cox.

JackieNo · 23/11/2008 09:30

Fab mugs.

hockeypuck · 23/11/2008 09:31

Lovely stuff! Now I need a website which will let me choose a few rich men who want to buy me this stuff. Any suggestions?

Fillyjonk · 23/11/2008 09:37

jackie I am rofl at idea of buying any of those for my...thrifty...somewhat puritanical...MIL. She bascially thinks that EVERYTHING is a waste of money except perhaps 9p white sliced bread.

I am hoping to convince her otherwise but I KNOW that whatever I buy will be met with slightly pursed lips and an "Oh. I see. I hope it wasn't TOO expensive."

(perhaps I should just buy her a loaf of Asda value bread)

Bombay Duck. Again, better for females!

trixymalixy · 23/11/2008 10:56

thorsten van elten

I'm loving all these! Have retreated with my laptop on the pretext of Sorting Christmas this afternoon, but can see I'm going to emerge with a whole list of things purely for myself...

My additions to the MN Directory of Lovely Online Shops are...

the bloomsbury store

not on the high street

and my new favourite... snowhome

Fillyjonk · 23/11/2008 14:04

oh dear

I want lots of things now
