We do both, outgoing until its time to deliver (i mean send to santa!) which i try to do all on the same day and then replace them with the ones we receive

Just wondered about everyone else?

Errr, none

DS1 would be absolutely fine, would not even enter his head to look at anything under the tree.

DS2 on the other hand is a different matter....... I would end up rewrapping everything!

none until chrismas eve, dd2 would open them , on christmas eve we put incoming under the tree.

bythepowerofgreyskull · 14/11/2008 18:06

none until father Christmas has been, then there will be gifts under there for people who are coming to visit either on Christmas Day or over the Christmas period

ShyBaby · 14/11/2008 18:22

Incoming from other people. Then Christmas Eve the ones I've bought and the ones Santa brings.

WaynettaSlob · 14/11/2008 18:26

Same as ShyBaby, but also ones we are giving to other people, so when they visit there's something under the tree for them.

ChasingSquirrels · 14/11/2008 18:30

Outgoing, and any incoming that are received before (post, friends/family that we see beforehand etc).
All kids presents from under the tree go in their pillowcase on xmas eve night with main present and stocking fillers.
Outgoing presents come out from under the tree as and when we see the relevant people.

Smithagain · 14/11/2008 18:31

Incoming. As soon as they arrive. Only one has ever been opened by little fingers, but we do lay it on thick every year that they must not be opened early because everyone will be sad.

WobblyPig · 14/11/2008 18:38

Both as it looks more festive with more presents.

dmo · 14/11/2008 18:42

we put the presents we buy family and friends under the tree so i can have them in matching wrapping paper to the tree

CoolYourJets · 14/11/2008 19:08

I love putting all outgoing under the tree.

I am a saddo control freak and coordinate them all with fancy wrappings.

I hide incoming behind outgoing until I have to deliver/hand out.

duckyfuzz · 14/11/2008 19:09

both

TheFallenMadonna · 14/11/2008 19:18

Incoming.
From a couple of days before Christmas. But then we only put our tree up a week or so before.

ohdearwhatamess · 14/11/2008 19:23

Incoming only (outcoming seems very wrong to me). Outgoing are kept on top of a dresser to keep them safe from predators.

Won't even put incoming ones out this year as one or other dc would open then.

ohdearwhatamess · 14/11/2008 19:24

outcoming outgoing

shopaholicDIVA · 14/11/2008 19:28

no present seen in the house untill xmas eve when dc went bed.
outgoing prsents are in a bags tagged with family name, kept in the guest bedroom till delivered or handed.

babbi · 14/11/2008 19:49

Thank goodness Coolyoujets, someone mad like me ! I do let DD help with the tree and then strip and redo it after she goes to bed as baubles etc have to be placed correctly , bead strands must be symmetrical etc DH goes to the pub to keep out of it .. naturally the wrapping paper matches the lounge decor , anything else just wont do....
oh and did I mention we have just the four trees .....

psychomum5 · 14/11/2008 20:07

no presents under the tree until the Big Man himself has been!!

DontCallMeBaby · 18/11/2008 18:31

Incoming as they come in, and outgoing as they're wrapped, oh, and 'staying here' as they're wrapped as well (DD's and mine and DH's to each other). They all look so nice under the tree, I wouldn't like to only put them there on Christmas Eve. Obviously the ones from Father Christmas aren't under the tree, what would they be doing in my house before he's been? Confused

thean · 20/11/2008 18:05

Father Christmas only gives the Presents in the stocking so all presents outgoing and incoming go under the tree(saves on storage space.)Always try to keep the presents i have wrapped at the front though so wrapping paper matches.
