Hi,

Was wondering if any MNers had any good ideas for 'keepsake' presents for a baby's first Christmas?

My son is really too young to 'get' Christmas, so while we'll get him so little things, I'd really like to get him something that we can look back at...

But just stuck for suggestions.. DO I go kitsch and get him a silver rattle, or practical and get him an ISA or premium bonds (or do you have to be 16 for those?).. Or fun and make a picture or a family tree for him..

Am looking for allsorts of ideas... I'm not saying money is no object, but it's not my first priority when choosing a pressie IYSWIM.

ANy ideas of what you have done or are planning to do for a first christmas would be much appreciated.

someone bought DS1 a little teddy with Baby's first Christmas on to hang on the tree. It's really cute and we remember the frend every year when we get the decorations out.

Didn't do anything for DS2 and 3

DSs both got expensive bears (one was a Steiff) and DD got a swarowski snowflake.

DS1 got a personalised embroidered 1St Christmas bib which is now in his memory box.

Mothercare are doing T shirts now that look very cute so I might get one for DS2 this year

Snap
I am doing photobox too - I have been taking pics of all family and friends holding DD and i am making it into a book to remind her of everyone who loves her. Especially nice as our family live quite far away.

i have done one as a surprise for my sister of her babys first year

No good for a boy but I am getting my DD a charm bracelet and my plan is to give her a charm in her stocking every year which is relevant to that year so that she has a 'memory' bracelet when she is 18.

I am getting a personalised Xmas bauble for the tree....Blooming Marvellous did one for my first son but it was a but crapola and they misplaced the apostrophe....

this year I have seen them in Great Little Trading and Mothercare

Hi everyone,
I was looking for some of your creative suggestions and just the wisdom of your experience...
It is my son's 2nd Christmas and this year it'll just be the 3 of us, mum, dad and baby.

Last year was my first Christmas not spent at my parents, we had a really big family gathering but i really think we missed out, I speak English but the family completely forgot to include me and forgot that it was baby's FIRST Christmas and this year I want to make up for that, and really give my son a special day.

He is a very playful little boy who loves running round the house, playing catch and peek-a-boo,
at Christmas he'll be 18 months so I really want to give him, and his dad a fun day, to show we don't Need LOADS of people to have a great day, plus we need to start our own family traditions.

Any ideas, as i'm used to the very traditional Christmas day but am not sure how to really communicate how special the day is for baby, and was quite sad to miss out on it last year... so any ideas to make a great day for toddlers... Thanks for your help!
