(is wreath even the right word??)

Anyway, we have moved house this year and previously had a wooden door, no probs, whack a nail in and its hung but i am assuming that i can have NO wreath this year on my uPVC door?? I wouldn't be allowed to hammer a nail in it as its a rented house lol

Can you wrap some thin transparent wire (fishing wire?) around the wreath, hang the wire over the top of the door and tie it around a fixing on the inside?

Do you have a door knocker ?
Ours is a porch type so we nail one to the wooden frame of porch.
Or anywhere to tie one near the door ?

Look for a 'wreath hanger'. Think I got one in Tesco last year. It's a length of flat metal with a square hook at one end that goes over the top of the door, and hook at the other end to hang the wreath from.

On second thoughts that might not work on a UPVc door because there's no gap at the top, it's sealed isn't it?

I got a wreath hanger as well, but mine is plastic. Think it came from Wilkinson's for about a quid.

what about this sticky one?

MerlinsBeard · 10/11/2008 21:31

i don't have a knocker (i had to go and check) i do have a manky old bit of trellis though which i can nail it too!

of course i don't HAVE to have a wreath on the door, its just that its become part of our tradition that we collect things to put on it (its a willow one - fake i think - but the DSs and i collect holly and ivy and berries to decorate it)

i don't think i would be allowed the sticky hook. I am not allowed to tape notes to the outside of the door ()

I hang mine off a piece of string and tape it over the top of the door

ChippyMinton · 10/11/2008 21:35

Ah well you'll just have to stick one of these in the front garden one of these to preserve the appearance of the property

MerlinsBeard · 10/11/2008 21:37

LOL!!! I'll take 2 !
