Cos by the time I go to bed tonight my Christmas shopping (well at least Santa's) will be complete!

90% done....a couple of internet orders to place but I know exactly what i want and from where.

Then I just have to work out what to get for 5 nieces and nephews and then done.

Oh and hopefully by the time I go to bed tomorrow it will all be wrapped ready for DP to put in loft on Monday - except of course the couple of internet orders I am about to place.

I'm done too. Just need to do the wrapping.

MrsMattie · 09/11/2008 05:40

Mine is all done. Did most of it by internet and have even wrapped everyone's presents except DS's (will do that on Xmas Eve). I had to be super organised this year as am having a baby in a fortnight and didn't fancy stressy post-birth shopping trips.

Finished as well, actually finished a few weeks ago, but haven't wrapped any yet, I hate that part.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/11/2008 07:24

Done here as well, and DH will do the wrapping.

compo · 09/11/2008 07:31

I want to start wrapping but it doesn't seem right cos it's not December yet and I worry the sellotape will lose it's sticky if I wrap too early

angrypixie · 09/11/2008 07:43

I love christmas including shopping to jingly jangly christmas music. I love the crowds, the slight air of panic, the cold. I love wrapping to a christmas movie with the tree lights twinkling and a glass of mulled wine.

There is no way I could get excited about wrapping presents in November and you're right - the thought of presents wrapped and in the loft before the first door of the advent calendar is open does make me feel sick!

Happy for you but sooooooo not fun imo

Buda · 09/11/2008 08:50

I'm all over the place this year. Usually have a lot done by now but not this time.

Have done one Book People order and have some stuff in my basket on Amazon and bought for my niece and one nephew.

My head feels all woolly when I think about it all! Very strange!

micku5 · 09/11/2008 10:05

Just had a quick look online and the 1/2 price on toys at Sainsburys ends on November 12th

Sorry.....I still haev to email you though as there is still stuff I want.

DANCESwithLordPottingtonSmythe · 09/11/2008 16:04

I'm with angry pixie. I have bought a few presents. That's it. Wrapping them now is insanity and means you miss out on the justified Christmas-fest when you watch a Christmas film/listen to Christmas music and wrap whilst your dh looks on helpfully but DOESN'T TOUCH because he's an eejit when it comes to wrapping

I really love christmas and all that goes with it, even the shopping! I do get into a chrismaszilla though. No-ones aloud to touch christmas goodies/food till christmas day, But after a big dinner/choccy prezzies no-one whats anything!! I have made a packed with myself this year.

  1. No last minute shopping buying rubbish stocking fillers just because i think they should have piles of prezzies.
( I did an afternoon on the internet shopping, really thinking what everyone would like and apart from a couple i'm finished, I do like wrapping closer to the time to make it all christmasy)
  1. I have ordered pre written cards.
(will do close rellies with the kids)
  1. Hate cooking but i'm going to throw my heart into it for this year only.
(even invited sis and family to stay over, Gosh i must be relaxed!)
  1. I'm sweare to let anyone have what they want when they want.
(execpt my Baileys!)

Might just have a peek at the sainsburys 50% off sale though!!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/11/2008 16:07

Are you see, I am the eejit at wrapping so I look on while DH wraps

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/11/2008 16:09

sep1712 - where do you get pre written cards?

sep1712 · 09/11/2008 16:51

studio cards

angrypixie · 09/11/2008 18:43

I love wrapping.

shinyshoes · 09/11/2008 18:47

I'm done, £20.00 in my neices card and it's all done .

All I have to get is the booze and the turkey

eandh · 09/11/2008 18:47

me too and wrapped them on wednesday and all of dd's in loft (in 2 different coloured sacks so I know whos is whos) and families etc are on top of my wardrobe/back od dh's wardrobe. Am half way through the christmas cards so that'll be my job this week

Arrgggh but I have to wrap tonight.

If I don't DP will do it during hte day (as he has 2 days/week off) and I have a system to name them and wrap them etc....and he won't do it right!

Not only that but they need moving from garage to loft for security and because of eyes. If I wrap them first then they don't have to come down again until XMas eve.

100% of mine is done. Beat that lol

elsiepiddock · 09/11/2008 22:47

But - I want to do it when it feels all Christmassy.

Me and dh take a day off and go to Bluewater, sans kids, and do the whole lot in one terrifyingly expensive, hit.
