How long do they last for or do you just treat them as decorations and not attempt to eat them?!

We don't try to eat them, we just enjoy making them and the smell they give the room.....really nice considering we have a plastic tree. We use nigella's recipe. The kids have really enjoyed decorating them and the tree looks lovely with them tied on with ribbon.
