I ask for their list during November to give myself plenty of time and to get things that might sell out if I leave it longer.

Then, at 6 o clock on xmas eve, they announce they've completely changed their minds and proceed to reel off a list of new things they now want.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And to cap it all off, my mum buts in with

"he doesn't want a wii, he wants an x-box nametaken. Why haven't you got him an x-box? Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yup. DD did that to us for years, so now I leave a little money by til Christmas Eve and dash round like a lunatic trying to fulfil her every wish.

If I fail I sweep up in January, as luckily it's her birthday then.

I'm also hoping that maturity will set in and she'll now be more consistent in her wants/wishes. Hah! Naieve or what!

Sadly, nanny has bought dd lots of Hello Kitty stuff over the last few months, without checking with me. If she'd have asked, I'd have told her...dd no longer likes HK and has moved on to skulls. I learned the hard way when I bought her a lovely black tee with little kitties on.

I empathise with you.

Oce I have got the majority of the main things I close their list. I give them warning that it will be happening soon and so they are free to change their minds up until that point.

Once the list is closed it stays closed.

Last year we bought our ds' (6 and 4 now) what they asked for and they never played with most of the stuff, absolute tat. Car tracks and stuff, just not very good ones.

This year they have both asked for lego which we have already got but now the sodding lego catalogue has come through the post and they are asking for everyhing. I'm basically just ignoring them

I know they wil be fine come christmas, they just get carried away.
