I'm getting married over Christmas and need to buy in a load of mince pies for the drinks reception.

Which shop do you think makes the best ones?

I make my own [smug]
with jars of mince meat and pre-rolled ready made pastry.
It's the toddler method, although I don't need my mum to supervise the cutting out or the oven bit

I'm with Stealth, use sweet ready made shortcrust pastry and a jar of mincemeat, everyone is dead impressed.
They are also far nicer than bought ones.

Where do i what?? Mum makes the mincemeat and I make the pastry and the pies.

Actually I do sometimes buy them and I like the really cheap crappy ones. My guilty pleasure>

I only do this because DH goes on about how his mum makes mince pies every year and they're much better than shop bought etc etc.
I shame facedly told her exactly what I did a few years ago - she told me she does exactly the same!
