DD has been desperate for a guitar and lessons for months.
Having found one, bought it for 20% off generally feeling pretty pleased with myself she's now announced she'd rather have sparring equipment instead for Taekwon-Do.
At what point do you say tough luck I've bought it now ?

Forget the comment she might change her mind again. If the Taekwon-Do stuff comes up again tell her she can save for it. Get her a a fun cheap money box to save up for that and she can put bits of christmas money in it. She can also do some chores or even Christmas chores sound more fun and earn 50p's.
