what? upside down Christmas tree?

ok....i need a new Christmas this year, so i've been browsing the net....and i keep seeing upside down Christmas trees. Is this some weird new trend for this year?

A wierd trend perhaps - but not new. They have been around for a couple of years. There is one in the John Lewis catalogue which, to make matters even worse, is black! Personally think they look yuck!

I saw one and thought it was horrible!

I quite like them, I also like the weirdo skinny tall ones too. It would be useful for this tiny cottage as our current tree is about 5 foot round at the bottom which takes up half our living room. It would be pretty sensible in here as all the baubles would be at the top around ceiling height.

But i haven't bought one as they just look too odd for me. Yet again aesthetics winning out over practicality in this house

We saw one in Homebase and DS and DD were convinced it was the wrong way up

Traditional German thing, I think ... but just because it's traditional, doesn't mean it looks right!

Saw them last year and thought they were quite novel. Saw them again this year and thought how naff that they're still about.

apparently it is so you can get more presents under it. Each to their own, but i think it would make me dizzy to have a tree the wrong way up in my living room.

LOL, we saw one in B&Q at the weekend. I actually thought it was staff having a laugh until I saw the label!
