we have tree with pockets.as dc got older we put treasure hunt clues in and they love it!

i have a fabric one with little pockets, put a sweet each and a tree ornament in each pocket. Have brought a nativity scene this year so will put the figures in some of the pockets.
Both ds's (5.3y and 23m last year) love it.

ChasingSquirrels · 02/11/2008 23:30

treasure hunt clue lovely idea, ds1 would really enjoy that - what does the clue lead to?

cheesesarnie · 02/11/2008 23:32

some days a tree decoration, some days a sweetie and some days a litle(cheap) toy.

ChasingSquirrels · 02/11/2008 23:34

ah, so just what I would be putting in the pockets then. Hum, have to think about that, I like the things actually being in there, but he would love a treasure hunt, I do one at his parties and is fab.

Oh I like the idea of treasure hunt clues, nabbing that one . Now all I need to do is remember if I have a pocket calender thing already .

ChasingSquirrels · 02/11/2008 23:36

really like mine, was £5 in Netto. They have similar in atm for £3.50 I think.

cheesesarnie · 02/11/2008 23:36

bit of a bugger when your trying to get to school in time though

skramble · 02/11/2008 23:39

It will have to be an after school thing for mine I think.

My friend is 23 and her mum gives her and her sister a small gift each day aas advent i.e. eyeliner one day, a purse the next etc.

So yeah it doesn't get boring hehe

DD has a fabric one with pockets that i bought from Avon a few years back. I'll fill that with wee bits and pieces (hair bobbles, plastic rings and the like) and get her a chocolate one of her choosing too.
I reckon she'll go for Bratz or WWE this year.
