3 wks before

its 3 weeks before and you have to get up really early on the day 3 weeks before and book a slot, 2 years ago i went online at 9.30am and there was only one tesco slot left for the day i wanted

I stayed up until midniight last year to get a good slot, had all gone early morning the next day so was worth it. That was Tesco's and they still used the same booking system as all year - ie 3 weeks ahead is the most you can book. They did "grey out" a couple of days where no service was offered.

blossomsmine · 03/11/2008 00:06

Stupid question....but how do you actually book a slot??

HappyMummyOfOne · 03/11/2008 09:44

As long as you are registered, I just throw enough items into the basket to meet the min order and then add to it throughout december.

blossomsmine · 03/11/2008 22:02

Oh right thats good, thanks

Hiya

Go over to martin lewis site, there are loads of customers who are complaining because Tesco have given out the christmas slots to priority customers one week before everybodyelse. Some people have complained to Tesco by e mail and by phone and one person has let the newspapers know. All the christmas slots appear to have gone so there are lots of angry people who are going to go elsewhere for their shopping. I don't have a choice as I am in a wheelchair.

IllegallyBrunette · 28/11/2008 21:11

Asdas are only up to the 19th so far, but I think they will add more on Sunday.

nbee84 · 28/11/2008 21:14

I actually agree with giving regular customers priority over the slots (even though I only shop online at Xmas) If I did my shopping every week with Tesco and then couldn't get a delivery at Christmas I'd be really peeved.

skcollobcat10 - if you are disabled do you usually do your shop online?

skcollobcat10 · 28/11/2008 21:35

hiya

yes, I am a permanent wheelchair user. I use the online at Tesco because I wouldn't be able to bring home most of the shopping myself, also if I asked a carer to do it, it would cost their hourly rate on top, so its much cheaper to use the online.

nbee84 · 28/11/2008 21:48

Have you had priority booking with Tesco for Christmas? How have you found Tesco online overall - are the delivery guys helpful.

Online shopping must be a godsend for the disabled - as you say, asking a carer to do it would increase the cost considerably.
