Is anyone giving magazine subscriptions for presents this Christmas - and if so, which website are you using to order them? My sisters want Red/Easy Living type magazines.

Thankyou Roisin.

I remember seeing something on the news about it when it first came out and thinking ds was not ready for it at that point.

His reading has really come on over last 18months but think will give it another couple of years.

Plenty of time for wasting more money!

Roisin -- BBC wildlife mag is full of stunning high quality pix. Not aimed at kids, but good for wildlife lovers who can read well (reading age 10+, I'd guess).

Dfc looks a bit dark & broody, is it?

I struggle to tell you about Dfc because everything about it leaves me cold. It's not glossy, it's not bright/attractive colours, and it's comic-strip, which does nothing for me.

So looking at the covers and glancing through I would definitely say it is 'dark and broody'.

But it is very attractive to my boys. They (literally ) fight over it when it arrives each Friday. I think they really like the serialisation of the stories and want to know what happens next. There are some 'action adventure' stories and some funny ones too.

When we got our subscription the deal was a few weeks free, I think, then you could cancel if you didn't like it. Are they still doing that offer?

Ds2's current ambition (he's 9) is to be a wildlife camera man and it's one of our main family hobbies, so I guess the BBC Wildlife Mag will be right up his street. He had a RA of 12+ when he was 7, so the text won't be a problem.
